Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior UX Designer to support the Amgen Design System, creating scalable UI components and patterns across brands. You will work in Figma, partner with engineering, and drive accessible, consistent experiences.

The role blends hands-on design-system work with cross-brand support, ensuring usability and consistency. You will mentor teams, manage roadmaps and contribute to governance across global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in web development, content management, or digital product leadership with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• 5-9 total years of experience in related field.
• Proven expertise with Adobe Experience Cloud including Assets, Sites, and Workfront.
• Knowledge of end-to-end content lifecycle and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong Figma proficiency including components, variants, and tokens.
• Understanding of frontend tech (Bootstrap, ReactJS, Handlebars, Angular, HTML/CSS).
• Experience leading a developers team and collaborating across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead brand onboarding into the Amgen Design System with intake, planning and tracking.
• Manage roadmaps, timelines and migration plans across multiple workstreams.
• Establish and maintain tracking systems (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira).
• Coordinate with UX, engineering and AEM teams to ensure aligned delivery.

• Conduct office hours, training sessions and documentation rollout.
• Identify and resolve process gaps and inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers and content specialists in India for cross-functional alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

Contributing to Strategic Initiatives:

• Lead brand onboarding into the Amgen Design System (intake, planning, tracking).
• Manage roadmaps, timelines, and migration plans across multiple workstreams.

• Support governance processes (component intake, prioritization, approvals).
• Facilitate office hours, training sessions, and documentation rollout.
• Identify and resolve process gaps, inefficiencies, and communication breakdowns.

Team & Delivery:

• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and content specialists based in India to ensure smooth project execution and cross‑functional alignment.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by promoting open communication, knowledge sharing, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Support day‑to‑day operations by participating in sprint planning sessions, tracking tasks, and coordinating with vendors and cross‑functional teams as needed.

Driving Operational Excellence:

• Establish robust workflows for development, testing, deployment, and maintenance within Adobe Experience Manager and other Adobe tools.
• Monitor performance metrics, manage A/B testing efforts, and champion data‑driven decision‑making.
• Ensure SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and compliance guidelines are consistently implemented.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Partner with global marketing, product, and digital technology teams to deliver integrated, impactful experiences.
• Support clear and timely communication of project updates, key metrics, and progress to global stakeholders across time zones, ensuring alignment and transparency.
• Collaborate with other offshore/onshore development teams, ensuring smooth and effective execution.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in web development, content management, or digital product leadership, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• 5-9 over all experience with related field .
• Proven expertise with Adobe Experience Cloud, including Adobe Assets, Sites, Creative Suite, Content Analytics, and Workfront.
• Proficient knowledge of the end‑to‑end content lifecycle, web content management, content publishing/deployment, and delivery processes.
• Knowledge of Cloud‑native approaches and platforms including AWS or Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of AEM as Cloud Service.
• Strong proficiency in Figma (components, variants, auto layout, tokens).
• Understanding of frontend technologies like Bootstrap, ReactJS, Handlebars, Angular, CSS3, and HTML 5.
• Experience working on a team of developers.
• Strong understanding of digital compliance, web accessibility, and regulated industry standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with design systems and UX workflows.
• Understanding of Figma and brand/variable token structure.
• Multi‑brand architecture familiarity.
• Exposure to AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) and/or enterprise CMS ecosystems.
• Understanding of Storybook or frontend component workflows.
• Experience supporting distributed/global team
