Job summary

Organization- India Consultancy Private Limited is seeking a Design Director to report to the Regional Vice President - Design Services, India & SWA, for executing Technical Services within the region while maintaining Hyatt's Design Standards. The role oversees key projects with external consultants, focusing on Classics, Essentials and Inclusive collections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Experience in hospitality industry, minimum 5 years. Preferably in the select service segment.
• Minimum of 10 years experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, written and public speaking skills.
• Able to lead large-scale creative teams across multiple brand and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with management of ownership groups, architecture and interior design consultants.
• Fluent language skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Travel extensively in India and SWA.

Responsibilities

• Support the Architecture and Interior Design function for the Classical and Essentials segments with emphasis on Essentials.
• Support Owners, Consultants and stakeholders in hotel project design from Classics and Essentials Brands.
• Oversee the design process among consultants to safeguard Owners' interests and Hyatt product.
• Review drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure approved designs are incorporated.
• Work on refurbishment projects and provide design guidelines to operating teams.
• Evaluate potential projects via site visits or design to assess viability and compliance to brand structure.
• Provide guidance to Owner's consultants, contractors and project teams on Global Design Standards and Brand Touchpoints.
• Assist Owner's design consultants on space planning and conceptual design.
• Review and approve drawings submitted by design consultants.
• Advise on fabrics, finishes, carpeting and surface specifications.
• Review interior furnishings and fixtures specifications.
• Develop and update Preliminary Area Programs for projects.
• Maintain excellent communication with Hyatt International Engineering and Technical Services Specialists.

Summary

The Design and Planning Director will report to the Regional Vice President - Design Services, India & SWA for the execution of Technical Services within the assigned region maintaining the integrity of Hyatt's Design Standards. In addition, they will be responsible for ensuring that the Hotel Design Services Obligations are operated with compliance and integrity. They will oversee the design and execution of key projects in the region through the management of external consultants. The role will focus on our Classics, Essentials and Inclusive collections.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support the Architecture and Interior Design function of Hyatt Design and Technical Services for the Classics and Essentials segment, with an emphasis on Essentials.
• Support Owners, Consultants and stakeholders in the design of hotel projects from our portfolio of Classics and Essentials Brands.
• Manage, simultaneously, the overview of Design process among the consultants with the purpose of safeguarding the Owners's interests and the Hyatt product.
• To overview drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure that the approved designs have been incorporated
• Work on refurbishment projects and provide design guidelines and advice to operating teams.
• Evaluates potential projects via site visits or in design form to assess viability and compliance to brand structure.
• To produce sketch drawings and CAD drawings in order to communicate with the Owner's Consultants.
• Provide guidance to Owner's consultants, contractors and project management teams on the implementation of Global Design Standards and all Brand Touchpoints.
• To assist the Owners's design consultants on initial space planning and conceptual design.
• To review and approve drawings submitted by the various design consultants.
• To provide advice on specifications for fabrics, finishes, carpeting and surfaces.
• To review specifications for interior furnishings and fixtures.
• To develop and update Preliminary Area Programs for projects.
• Excellent communication channels are to be maintained with Hyatt International Engineering and Technical Services Specialists.

Qualifications
