Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Design/Production/Textile/Polymer Engineering.
• 2–7 years of relevant experience in product design for PPE, textiles, inflatables, polymer parts, or safety equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes like injection molding, blow molding, stitching, coating, lamination.
• Knowledge of polymer materials and technical textiles; experience with FEA/CFD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative design concepts and engineering solutions for products and thin-walled structures.
• Develop 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, tool designs, and manufacturing drawings using CAD.
• Engage in structural and functional design of inflatable systems including valves, seams, coatings, and pressure integrity.
• Ensure designs comply with BIS, ANSI, EN, NFPA, ISO, and other standards.
• Work with prototype development, testing, FEA, and simulation for optimization.
• Perform material selection, polymer evaluation, load/pressure calculations, and strength analysis.
• Support tooling, molds, fixtures, and processes for manufacturing.
• Prepare BOM, 3D models, drawings, change notes, tolerances, and engineering docs.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, Tool Room, and Testing Lab teams.
• Monitor timelines, validation plans, costs, and manufacturability constraints.
• Participate in field trials, customer feedback sessions, and troubleshooting.

Job Description

• Create innovative design concepts and engineering solutions for products and thin-walled structures.
• Develop 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, tool designs, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Engage in structural and functional design of inflatable systems including air valves, seams, coatings, modulus, and pressure integrity.
• Ensure compliance of product designs with applicable standards such as BIS, ANSI, EN, NFPA, ISO, etc.
• Work with prototype development, sample testing, FEA, and simulation analysis for product optimization.
• Perform material selection, polymer/technical textile evaluation, load/pressure calculations, and structural strength analysis.
• Support development of tooling, molds, fixtures, and processes for manufacturing.
• Prepare BOM, 3D models, drawings, change notes, tolerance stack-ups, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, Tool Room, and Testing Lab teams.
• Monitor project timelines, validation plans, cost targets, and manufacturability constraints.
• Participate in field trials, customer feedback sessions, and troubleshooting activities.

Technical Skills Required

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Design / Production / Textile / Polymer Engineering.
• 2–7 years of relevant experience in product design for PPE, textiles, inflatables, polymer parts, or safety equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, compression molding, fabric welding, HF welding, thermoforming, stitching, coating, and lamination.
• Knowledge of polymer materials, technical textiles, coated fabrics, FR fabrics, and rubber-coated materials.
• Experience with simulation and analytical tools (FEA, CFD, stress/pressure calculations) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, creativity, and engineering fundamentals.
• Good communication, documentation, and team coordination skills.
