Job summary

Roots Group of Companies in Tamil Nadu seeks a design-focused engineer to prepare 2D drawings and 3D models; you will use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to translate concepts into detailed engineering drawings and customer-ready documentation.

You will coordinate prototype development with production and quality teams, perform design verification and validation, and help maintain APQP records per automotive standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of 2D/3D modelling, prototype development, and design validation.
• Familiarity with APQP documentation and automotive quality standards is preferred.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Role & Responsibilities

• 2D & 3D Design Preparation
  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings as per design specifications and customer requirements.
  • Ensure drawing accuracy and maintain proper design documentation
• Prototype Sample Development
  • Coordinate prototype sample development based on design requirements.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and tooling teams to support prototype manufacturing.
  • Review prototype samples and incorporate necessary design modifications.
• Design Verification & Validation
  • Perform design verification and validation to ensure compliance with specifications and functional requirements.
  • Identify design issues and coordinate with relevant teams for corrective actions.
  • Support testing and validation activities before product release.
• APQP Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to complete design-related quality documents.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained as per customer requirements and quality standards.

Requirement:
