Job summary

Jacobs in Mumbai seeks a Design Engineer with 4–8 years of Civil/Structural experience to deliver robust design solutions for complex projects. You will produce structural analysis models, check calculations, and coordinate across teams and clients to meet project goals.

The role involves BIM (Revit) integration, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and readiness for short travel and deputation as needed to support global assignments.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• IStructE/CEng certifications preferred.
• Experience with RC/Steel design and BIM workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and design RC/steel buildings across sectors (high-rise, healthcare, metro stations).
• Lead a team of drafters to deliver detailed structural designs.
• Check detailed calculations and drawings per project quality procedures.
• Coordinate with project team and clients to ensure timely delivery.
• Be open to short travel and deputation to other offices as required; global collaboration.

Design Engineer, as a part of multi-disciplinary projects teams, is responsible for providing design support to technically challenging projects globally. Engineer would produce structural analysis models/designs and shall be responsible for the technical quality of his own work and would focus on compliance with project objectives, safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Experience into analysis & design of buildings of various sectors like High Rise Buildings, Healthcare, Metro Station Buildings etc.
• Understanding the basic structural engineering principles and leading a team of drafters in delivering detailed design
• Preparation and checking of the detailed structural calculations and detailed checking of the drawings in line with the project quality procedures
• Understand Project Procedure, Execution Plans, Quality Plans and assist Project Manager in the proper execution of the project activities.
• Communicate/coordinate within the team and with the Client/lead office to ensure project needs are being addressed in a timely manner.
• Capable of handling small units/areas within a large project independently under the guidance of
• Project Manager
• Capable of interacting with all stakeholders including client and vendors
• Should be open for short travel and deputation to other offices, where required
• Flexibility of working anywhere globally.
• Good spoken and written English language skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills

Here’s what you’ll need

Post Graduate Civil / Structural Engineering 4-8 years' experience.

Professional Engineer / Certifications like ISructE, CEng preferred.

Experience

• Experience in Structural Design for Buildings using RC / Steel materials
• Understanding of General Arrangement, RC / Steel detailing drawings and guiding / checking technician work.
• REVIT understanding is preferred.
• Must have experience on international projects (ANZ experience preferred), self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Experience in BIM management as an additional skill will be preferred.
