Job summary

Jacobs in India is seeking a Design Engineer to join multi-disciplinary teams. You will produce structural analysis models and designs for challenging global projects, ensuring technical quality and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role requires 4-8 years in civil/structural engineering, a postgraduate degree, and certifications such as ISructE or CEng preferred. Willingness for short travel and BIM/REVIT proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate civil/structural engineering degree with 4-8 years' experience.
• ISructE / CEng certifications preferred.
• Experience on international projects (ANZ experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Experience into analysis & design of buildings of various sectors like High Rise Buildings, Healthcare, Metro Station Buildings etc.
• Understanding the basic structural engineering principles and leading a team of drafters in delivering detailed design
• Preparation and checking of the detailed structural calculations and detailed checking of the drawings in line with the project quality procedures
• Understand Project Procedure, Execution Plans, Quality Plans and assist Project Manager in the proper execution of the project activities.
• Coordinate with team and client/lead office to address project needs in a timely manner
• Interact with stakeholders including client and vendors as needed
• Willingness for short travel and deputation to other offices where required
• Flexibility of working anywhere globally

Design Engineer, as a part of multi-disciplinary projects teams, is responsible for providing design support to technically challenging projects globally. Engineer would produce structural analysis models/designs and shall be responsible for the technical quality of his own work and would focus on compliance with project objectives, safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Experience into analysis & design of buildings of various sectors like High Rise Buildings, Healthcare, Metro Station Buildings etc.
• Understanding the basic structural engineering principles and leading a team of drafters in delivering detailed design
• Preparation and checking of the detailed structural calculations and detailed checking of the drawings in line with the project quality procedures
• Understand Project Procedure, Execution Plans, Quality Plans and assist Project Manager in the proper execution of the project activities.
• Communicate/coordinate within the team and with the Client/lead office to ensure project needs are being addressed in a timely manner.
• Capable of handling small units/areas within a large project independently under the guidance of
• Project Manager
• Capable of interacting with all stakeholders including client and vendors
• Should be open for short travel and deputation to other offices, where required
• Flexibility of working anywhere globally.
• Good spoken and written English language skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills

Here’s what you’ll need

Post Graduate Civil / Structural Engineering 4-8 years' experience.

Professional Engineer / Certifications like ISructE, CEng preferred.

Experience

• Experience in Structural Design for Buildings using RC / Steel materials
• Understanding of General Arrangement, RC / Steel detailing drawings and guiding / checking technician work.
• REVIT understanding is preferred.
• Must have experience on international projects (ANZ experience preferred), self-motivated, team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Experience in BIM management as an additional skill will be preferred.
