Job summary

Jacobs in Mumbai seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer with 2–4 years of design experience for data centres and FMCG projects. You will analyze and design concrete and steel buildings, piperacks, foundations, and seismic foundations using STAAD Pro, ETABS and SAFE, ensuring compliance with Indian codes and client requirements.

You will review drawings, perform dynamic and seismic analyses, coordinate with disciplines and prepare tender documents and BOQs.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 2-4 years of Civil/Structural design experience.
• Experience in Data Centre and FMCG projects.
• Design of concrete/steel buildings, foundations and seismic analysis.
• Hands-on with STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE and related design tools.
• Knowledge of Indian codes and international codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design of piperacks, pipe supports, platforms and foundations.
• Dynamic analysis and dynamic design; seismic design using response spectrum.

ROLE

• Analysis and Design of concrete and steel structures, Buildings
• Design of piperacks, pipe supports, platforms
• Design of Foundations, Equipment foundations, liquid retaining structures
• Dynamic analysis and dynamic design
• Preparation of BOQ’s, Tender Documents etc.
• Interdisciplinary coordination
• Preparation of design basis, technical specifications for road pavements, drainage network, plumbing, levelling grading etc

Hands on experience of Indian and International codes for the design.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, design, detail engineering of Plant / Non-plant buildings (both RCC and structural steel), Steel connection design, pipe racks, foundations, liquid retaining structures, equipment foundations for fabricated and rotating equipment, roads / storm water drains , paving, roads , dikes, ring wall & tank foundations, etc
• Master planning of structural framing. Must be able to apply critical thinking and provide creative solutions to unique structural design encountered in the industrial plants, stacks, vibrating machinery and material handing foundations and structure, seismic resistant design using response spectrum analysis
• Preparation of Tender document, BOQ’s.
• Use accepted engineering practices to produce mathematical models that accurately represent the building structure or foundation and meet building code and client requirement. Analyze the models to produce a safe, economical design that satisfies the design criteria.
• Review & checking of design drawings and calculations
• Must be capable of reading equipment layouts, piping GA drawing & isometric drawings
• Review and interpretation of Survey and Soil investigation reports.
• Review of fabrication drawings & design of steel welded / bolted connection will be added advantage.

Coordination with other disciplines and perform squad checks on drawing received from other disciplines.

Here’s what you’ll need

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• 2-4 years of experience in handling Civil and Structural Design activities.
• Experience with Civil & Structural design activities for Data Centre, & FMCG Projects
• Experience in design of concrete and steel buildings, concrete and steel structures, piperacks, building foundations, equipment foundations, tank foundation, FEM analysis, Seismic analysis, Design of Dynamic foundations etc
• Hands on experience with design software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, PT Flat slab etc.
• Hands on experience in review of PEB design & drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of Indian Codes and specifications required
• Additional knowledge of International codes ASCE, AISC, ACI is must. Knowledge of other International code like BS, IBC & EURO etc is desirable.
