Job summary

Khatib & Alami in Bengaluru seeks a Design Engineer - Mechanical with 5–8 years of Plumbing & Firefighting design experience. You will participate in concept, schematic and detailed designs and prepare tender documents aligned with client and code requirements.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks is mandatory; you will collaborate with project teams, perform QA/QC reviews, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality design outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in Plumbing & Firefighting Design engineering.
• Experience in Gulf region design projects preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is mandatory.

Job Summary

The Design Engineer participates in design activities for non-complex mechanical designs. He closely works with project teams on the development of mechanical designs, including concept designs, schematic designs, detailed designs and tender documents which accommodate the requirements of the client, local authorities, international standards and codes of practice and the requirements of other disciplines. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the mechanical design field and represent the firm and share his expertise and knowledge with other team members.

Key Responsibilities

• To have good knowledge in PLUMBING & Fire Fighting system.
• Good experience in PHE, Firefighting systems REVIT design.
• Good experience in calculation in PHE & Firefighting system.
• Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
• Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements to meet overall project objectives and specifications with quality design output.
• Responsible for making peer review of the design in compliance with company QA/QC procedures & its implementation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required to Execute this Role

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; a relevant master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in Plumbing & Firefighting Design engineering is must.
• Experience in Gulf region design projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PHE systems, water supply, drainage, firefighting networks, and relevant codes/standards.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is mandatory
• Strong analytical skills with hands‑on experience performing system calculations.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.
