Job summary

Barak Brazos Engineering Llp is seeking a Design Engineer with 2+ years of instrumentation and control system design experience to develop and document instrumentation and control panel systems. You will produce wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and control panel schematics, and review datasheets, BOMs, and specifications to meet project requirements.

Collaborating with process, electrical, and mechanical teams, you will ensure compliance with international standards and maintain clear stakeholder

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in instrumentation and control system design in an EPC environment.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD, E-CAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed design deliverables: wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, loop drawings, termination details, junction box layouts, and control panel schematics.
• Prepare and review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, BOMs, and specifications per project/client requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with ISA, IEC, NEC, and project standards, safety and quality norms.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, and mechanical teams for integrated instrumentation.
• Present design concepts, progress updates, and project status to stakeholders.

Job description

As a Design Engineer with 2+ years of experience, you will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of Instrumentation and Control Panel Systems. This role demands a sound understanding of electrical and instrumentation engineering principles, control system architecture, and relevant international design standards.

You Are Expected To:

• Create Design Deliverables: Produce detailed control and instrumentation deliverables including wiring diagrams, hook-up drawings, loop drawings, termination details, junction box layouts, and control panel schematics.
• Documentation & Review: Prepare and review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, bill of materials (BOM), and specifications in line with project and client requirements.
• Standard Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with international and project-specific standards (ISA, IEC, NEC, etc.), safety regulations, and quality norms.
• Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work closely with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless instrumentation integration across disciplines.
• Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts, progress updates, and project status to internal and external stakeholders.

You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have:

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in Instrumentation and Control System Design within an EPC company.
• Software Tools: Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD, E-CAD, and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Technical Domain: Strong understanding of field instrumentation, PLC/DCS interface design, and signal wiring.
• Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge in sizing and selection of instruments, sensors, transmitters, valves, and control components.
• Documentation: Experience preparing technical documentation including datasheets, cable schedules, and instrument index, etc.
