Job summary

Expleo is seeking an Electrical Wiring Harness Engineer in Chennai to design and develop wiring harness systems for vehicles and industrial equipment. You will create 2D/3D routing using CAD tools and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration into the overall product architecture.

The role requires a BE in Electrical Engineering with knowledge of automotive electrical systems, and experience with PLM processes.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of automobile electrical systems and components.
• Experience with wiring harness design/testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical wiring harness systems compliant with standards and customer specs.
• Create 2D/3D harness routing using CAD tools (CATIA, Capital Harness, Zuken E3).
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to integrate harnesses into product architecture.
• Generate and maintain wiring diagrams, connector tables, and BOMs.
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and validation activities for reliability and manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems.
• Interface with suppliers for component selection, cost optimization, and manufacturability feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical wiring harness systems for vehicles or industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
• Create 2D and 3D harness routing using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or Zuken E3).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to integrate harness designs into overall product architecture.
• Generate and maintain detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, connector tables, and BOMs.
• Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and validation activities to ensure product reliability and manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems.
• Interface with suppliers for component selection, cost optimization, and manufacturability feedback.

Qualifications

BE in Electrical Engineering with knowledge of automobile parts (Electrical system)

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring harness architecture, and component selection.
• Proficiency in CAD tools for harness design (e.g., CATIA Electrical, Capital Harness, Zuken E3).
• Familiarity with automotive or industrial standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience with PLM systems and change management processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Must be BE/BTech Electrical or Mechanical with good academic record
• Good communication and explanation skill
