Design Engineer - Closures GSM

Job summary

TVS Motor in India seeks a design engineer to create and develop door closure systems for vehicles. You will lead 3D CAD modeling, assemblies and 2D drawings, apply GD&T and CAE methods, and drive DFMEA/PFMEA-driven design improvements.

Responsibilities include production release for exterior closures, packaging and vehicle integration studies, and collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams to validate components and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
• Understand GD&T, CAE, DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA and integrate results into product designs.
• Production release responsibility for door and door glass closures (latches, handles, cables, regulators).
• Perform packaging and vehicle integration studies for door closures.
• Develop designs for function, performance, durability, weight, cost, manufacturability.
• Support design reviews, ECOs, and product development activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to validate components.
• Support current product and issues.
• Awareness of market trends to influence future developments.
