Job summary

Powertech Electricals in Surat is seeking a Design Engineer to join our team. You will design LT electrical panels, prepare GA drawings and BOM, and coordinate with Estimation, Sales, Purchase, Production and QA to ensure smooth project execution.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience in electrical engineering, a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech, and strong MS Excel skills. Freshers may apply; local Surat candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop LT electrical panels such as PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF, VFD, PLC, DG Synchronization, Control and Distribution Panels.
• Prepare GA drawings, SLDs, schematic/control drawings, wiring diagrams and terminal plans.
• Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) based on project requirements and specs.
• Select components like ACB, MCCB, MCB, contactors, relays, CTs, meters, busbars, SPDs, terminals and control components.
• Perform electrical calculations, component sizing, load calculations and short-circuit considerations.
• Review customer specifications, BOQs, drawings and project requirements for accurate design.
• Coordinate with Estimation, Sales, Purchase, Production, Testing and Project teams for smooth execution.
• Make design modifications based on customer requirements, site conditions and technical changes.
• Support production and testing teams with drawings, documents and clarifications.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC/IS standards, safety requirements and company quality standards.
• Maintain records of drawings, revisions, BOMs and technical documentation.
• Assist in FAT, inspection, testing and troubleshooting when required.
• Stay updated with new electrical components, design practices and industry standards.
