Job summary

ABB Schweiz AG is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for their Nashik, India office. In this role, you will support engineering activities for various project sizes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and compliance with safety and cybersecurity policies.

This position requires a Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and 2-4 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering, with hands-on expertise in EPLAN. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of Low Voltage Switchgear design.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with EPLAN (Mandatory).
• Understanding of IEC standards applicable to Low Voltage Switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Conduct survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.
• Assist customers on technical issues and maintain project documentation.
• Participate in workshops related to engineering design and tools.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost‑effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power division at Nashik, India

Accountable responsibilities

• Performing survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.
• Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and preparing project documentation within your scope of deliverables.
• Assisting customers on technical issues and interacting with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables.
• Supporting in communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
• Participating in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.

Qualifications for the role

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with EPLAN (Mandatory). Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
• Experience in designing Low Voltage Switchgear products (MCC, PCC, PDP, IEC switchgear).
• Experience in preparing electrical schematics, panel drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation and As-Built documentation.
• Understanding of IEC standards applicable to Low Voltage Switchgear.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
