Job summary

Ionics Power Solutions is seeking a Design Engineer with strong expertise in power electronics to design, develop and test power electronic circuits and systems for high performance and reliable operation.

The role involves designing converters and inverters, selecting switches such as IGBTs/MOSFETs, optimizing magnetics, and performing thermal and EMI/EMC analyses. Collaboration with firmware and hardware teams is essential, with optional Embedded C experience.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good understanding of circuit theory, component selection, and PCB design considerations.
• Experience in DSP.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations for power electronics systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of power electronic circuits, including converters, inverters, and related control systems.
• Hands-on experience with power switching devices such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, etc.
• Design and optimization of magnetics components (transformers, inductors) and perform power loss and thermal design calculations.
• Work on analog circuits (Op-Amps, filters, signal conditioning) and DC-DC converter topologies.
• Use of simulation tools such as MATLAB, P-Spice, LTSpice, and TI Workbench for circuit validation and performance analysis.
• Apply EMI/EMC design considerations in all stages of circuit development.
• Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams for integration and testing.
• Work on X-Ray Generator Design and Manufacturing.
• (Optional Advantage) Experience in Embedded C programming and communication protocols like UART, RS232, etc.
