Job summary

Lennox India Technology Centre in Chennai invites a design engineer to collaborate with Engineering/Design teams to translate technical requirements into manufacturable Sheetmetal and plastic designs. You will create drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing specs, and develop tubing and plastic components for Lennox HVAC products.

Ideal candidates have SAP Sales Order exposure, Sheetmetal design experience, and knowledge of GD&T/DFMEA, with familiarity in residential and commercial HVAC domains.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Sales Order processes.
• Sheetmetal manufacturing experience is required.
• Understanding of GD&T and DFMEA is preferred.
• Experience in residential and commercial HVAC domains is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Engineering/Design Team to gather technical requirements and execute Sales Orders.
• Understand Sheetmetal manufacturing processes and create manufacturable designs per Lennox standards, including drawings and design documentation.
• Develop tubing designs for plumbing that can be manufactured across Lennox factories and prepare tubing drawings.
• Design plastic components and create engineering models from industrial designs.
• Create BOMs and generate manufacturing specifications.
• Multitask across multiple testing efforts and ensure project schedules stay on track.

Job description

• 2 to 3 Hands on experience in SAP System, Understanding of the SAP system and Sales Order through SAP.
• Sheetmetal Design & manufacturing process
• Good Problem-solving skills.
• Experience of working/ understanding in Residential and commercial HVAC domains
• Understanding of GD & T, DFMEA

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Engineering / Design Team to gather the technical requirements and execute Sales Orders.
• Need to understand the Sheetmetal manufacturing process and provide the manufacturable designs according to Lennox standards and create drawing and design documentation.
• Work on the tubing module to provide plumbing designs that can be manufactured across different factories of Lennox and create drawing for the Tubing.
• Work on creating design for the plastic components and create the plastic engineering models from Industrial designs.
• Creating the BOM and generating the manufacturing specification
• Must be able to multitask as multiple testing efforts run in parallel.
• Work well with limited supervision & ensure the new product development project schedule is on track.
