Job summary

APS Building Solutions Pvt Ltd in Chennai is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The role focuses on structural design, engineering calculations, and preparation of design drawings for steel structures and PEB projects.

You will review drawings, ensure code compliance (AISC), coordinate with Tekla modelers and project teams, and drive timely delivery of design deliverables with high quality standards.

Qualifications

The candidate will be responsible for structural design, engineering calculations, and preparation of design drawings for steel structures and Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB). The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with modeling, detailing, and project teams.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and load calculations for steel structures and PEB projects. Design structural members and connections in accordance with applicable design codes, project specifications, and client requirements. Review architectural drawings, structural drawings, design criteria, and other technical documents. Prepare and review structural design drawings, calculation reports, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant international standards, including AISC and other applicable design codes. Coordinate with Tekla Modelers, Detailers, Checkers, and project engineers to ensure design accuracy and consistency. Identify and resolve design discrepancies and technical issues during project execution. Communicate with clients and internal teams to clarify project requirements and provide technical support. Maintain quality standards and ensure timely completion of assigned design deliverables. Support continuous improvement in engineering processes and design efficiency.
