Bharat Iron Syndicate is seeking an experienced Manager Design & Development to lead design and development activities from customer requirements to production handover. The role demands hands-on involvement in fixtures, jigs, and templates development, along with ensuring timely execution of development projects and adherence to ISO/EN standards.

Qualifikationen

• 8-12 years of relevant experience in Product Development, Design Engineering, or New Product Development, including leading development projects.
• Experience in Sheet Metal, Automotive, Fabrication, or Manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in English, Hindi, and local language with good business communication.

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage design and development projects per customer requirements, timelines, and feasibility.
• Review customer requirements, drawings, and specifications and provide inputs for RFQ feasibility.
• Lead RFQ feasibility meetings and ensure final reports are closed.
• Review and approve product and fixture drawings before release to relevant functions.
• Guide design, development, assembly, and validation of fixtures, jigs, and templates.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Marketing, and other functions for smooth execution.
• Plan and monitor development projects, milestones, trials, validity activities, and handover to Production.
• Review and control ECN documentation and communicate changes.
• Ensure development reports, records, and databases meet ISO/EN standards.

Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Manager Design & Development to lead design and development activities from customer requirements and RFQ feasibility through product and fixture design, development, validation, and successful handover to Production. The role will provide technical leadership to the team, coordinate with cross-functional departments, ensure controlled engineering documentation, and drive timely execution of development projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities :

• Lead and manage design and development projects as per customer requirements, timelines, and agreed feasibility.
• Review customer requirements, drawings, and specifications and provide technical inputs for new RFQ feasibility.
• Lead RFQ feasibility meetings and ensure preparation, review, and closure of finalized feasibility reports.
• Review and approve product and fixture drawings before controlled release to relevant functions.
• Guide the design, development, assembly, and validation of fixtures, jigs, and templates.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Marketing, and other functions for smooth execution of development activities.
• Plan and monitor development projects, milestones, trials, validation activities, and timely handover to Production.
• Review and control ECN documentation and ensure changes are properly communicated and implemented.
• Ensure development reports, records, and databases are maintained in accordance with applicable ISO and EN standards.
• Prepare and present Monthly Development Review presentations covering project status, risks, actions, and achievements.
• Review and authorize Purchase Requisitions through SAP for development-related requirements.
• Ensure SAP BOMs and Item IDs are created and updated accurately in coordination with Marketing and relevant functions.
• Identify development risks, technical issues, and process constraints and drive effective corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement in product design, manufacturability, cost, quality, and development lead time.
• Develop team capability through technical guidance, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and performance monitoring.

• Strong proficiency in English, Hindi, and local language; strong business communication skills.
• MS Office, Internet, and Email.
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks / AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of Laser Cutting, Bending, Welding, and engineering drawing reading.
• Working knowledge of SAP, including BOMs, Item IDs, and Purchase Requisitions.
• Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple development activities and timelines.
• Knowledge of product development, fixture development, validation, and manufacturing processes.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Experience

8-12 years of relevant experience in Product Development, Design Engineering, or New Product Development, including demonstrated experience in handling development projects and leading a technical team. Experience in Sheet Metal, Automotive, Fabrication, or Manufacturing is preferred.
