Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Design Coordinator for BESS projects in Mumbai. You will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, interfaces with OEMs, and drive design-management activities to ensure readiness for construction, integration, and handover.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years in BESS engineering, experience with battery systems, MV/HVAC, EMS/BMS/SCADA, and strong design-change control and documentation skills. This role is based in Mumbai with PMC governance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
• M.Tech preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in BESS engineering and design coordination.
• Experience with battery systems, PCS, MV systems, HVAC, FSS, protection, and EMS/BMS/SCADA interfaces.
• Experience coordinating OEM and multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables for utility-scale BESS projects.
• Manage RFIs, TQs, design comments, and OEM clarifications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering reviews and resolve conflicts affecting construction/commissioning.
• Maintain design registers and interface trackers; escalate unresolved design risks.

Job Description

Design Coordinator BESS

The Design Coordinator BESS will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, OEM interfaces, and design-management activities for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects. The role will support engineering readiness required for construction, integration, commissioning, and project handover.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Coordination

• Track layouts, SLDs, battery systems, PCS, transformers, MV equipment, HVAC, FSS, earthing, EMS/BMS/SCADA, and communication system documentation.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Ensure IFC drawing readiness for construction activities.

Design Interface Management

• Manage RFIs, TQs, design comments, and OEM clarifications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering reviews.
• Resolve engineering conflicts affecting construction or commissioning activities.

Change Control & Compliance

• Monitor design revisions and site modifications.
• Track firmware, controls philosophy, and system integration changes.
• Support development of as-built documentation.

Reporting & Governance

• Maintain design registers and interface trackers.
• Escalate unresolved design risks impacting schedule and readiness.
• Support engineering closeout and handover activities .

Qualifications

Education

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
• M.Tech preferred.

Experience

• 7-10 years of experience in BESS engineering and design coordination.
• Experience with battery systems, PCS, MV systems, HVAC, FSS, protection, and EMS/BMS/SCADA interfaces.
• Experience coordinating OEM and multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer preferred.
• AutoCAD, ETAP, STAAD, IEC, IS, or CEA compliance training preferred.
