Job summary

Amor Management Consultants is seeking an experienced Vehicle Architecture / BIW Design professional to review architecture and BIW concepts, ensuring proper integration of exterior/lateral systems and safety requirements for vehicle programs.

The role involves validating designs for clash and clearance, supporting packaging checks, and coordinating with BIW, Exterior, Interior, Chassis, and Manufacturing teams to resolve issues and meet project targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering.
• Experience in BIW Design, Vehicle Architecture or Vehicle Integration.
• Proficient in CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of pedestrian safety, passive safety and ergonomics.

Responsibilities

• Work on Vehicle Architecture, BIW Design and BIW Closures for automotive applications.
• Handle Exterior/Lateral vehicle components (Body Side, Doors, Pillar Trims, Roof).
• Review and validate vehicle architecture against architecture rules and design requirements.
• Perform vehicle packaging and integration checks for proper fit and interfaces.
• Review CATIA 3D models to identify design and integration issues.
• Conduct Clash & Clearance analysis to identify interferences.
• Coordinate with BIW, Exterior, Interior, Chassis, Safety, CAE, Packaging and Manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
• Support design reviews and ensure timely closure of issues.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Architecture / BIW Design professional with strong expertise in BIW, BIW Closures, Vehicle Integration and Exterior/Lateral systems. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing vehicle architecture and design concepts, ensuring proper integration of various vehicle systems, and validating designs for clash, clearance, ergonomics, pedestrian safety and passive safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on Vehicle Architecture, BIW Design and BIW Closures for automotive applications.
• Handle Exterior/Lateral vehicle components, including Body Side, Doors, Door Trims, Pillar Trims, Seat Belt integration, Windshield and Roof.
• Review and validate vehicle architecture against defined architecture rules and design requirements.
• Perform vehicle packaging and integration checks to ensure proper fitment and interface between various vehicle systems.
• Review CATIA 3D models and layouts to identify design and integration issues.
• Conduct Clash & Clearance analysis and identify potential interference between components.
• Evaluate designs from Pedestrian Safety, Passive Safety and Ergonomics perspectives.
• Identify design gaps and prepare clear issue synthesis, action plans and resolution plans.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as BIW, Exterior, Interior, Chassis, Safety, CAE, Packaging and Manufacturing to resolve integration issues.
• Support design reviews and ensure timely closure of identified design issues.
• Ensure vehicle architecture and design comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements and project targets.
• Provide technical inputs during new vehicle development and design change activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering or equivalent.
• 711 years of relevant experience for AM and 1114 years for DM.
• Strong experience in BIW Design, Vehicle Architecture or Vehicle Integration.
• Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and ability to review and interpret complex vehicle models.
• Strong exposure to BIW Closures, Body Side, Doors, Pillars, Roof and Windshield.
• Good understanding of vehicle packaging, architecture rules, clash & clearance and interface management.
• Knowledge of pedestrian safety, passive safety and vehicle ergonomics.
• Strong cross-functional coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in passenger vehicle development will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate would be someone currently working as a Vehicle Architecture Engineer, BIW Design Engineer, BIW Integration Engineer, Vehicle Integration Engineer, BIW Closure Engineer or Body Side/Exterior Design Engineer in an automotive OEM or automotive engineering/R&D organization.
