Job summary

SV Management Consultants is seeking an automotive Body Architecture and Ergonomics specialist to drive design proposals and packaging layouts for passenger cars. You will lead the development of dynamic envelopes and occupant packaging, ensuring harmony between styling, aerodynamics, ergonomics and engineering.

You will interact with cross-functional teams, verify designs in CATIA-V5, and guide a design team through manufacturing and testing phases, including supplier visits and DFMEA/DFA

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive body architecture and ergonomics.
• Proficient in BIW and trims, joineries, stamping, welding technologies.
• Good understanding of GD&T, tolerance calculations, part locating strategy and manufacturing processes.
• Able to check designs on CATIA-V5.

Responsibilities

• Generate Body Architecture proposals, style feasibilities, dimensional layouts, packaging layouts, dynamic envelopes, and occupant packaging.
• Harmonise styling, aerodynamic, ergonomics and engineering requirements.
• Study issues during part manufacturing, vehicle testing and production builds and resolve with feasible design solutions.
• Interact with project CFT members to resolve design issues.
• Visit supplier and production facilities to design-related matters.
• Prepare DFMEA, DFA, DVP, SOR.
• Coordinate with supplier & PE to resolve technical issues.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Work experience in domain of Automotive Body Architecture & Ergonomics.
• To generate various Body Architecture proposals, Style Feasibilities, Dimensional Layouts, Packaging layouts, Dynamic Envelopes, Vehicle's interior layout, occupant packaging, and physical dimensions
• Able to harmonise the Styling, Aerodynamic, Ergonomics and Engineering requirements
• Comfortable with Occupant Layout, Vision & Visibility, Reach & Clearance, Ingress & Egress requirements
• To study various issues, occur during part manufacturing, vehicle testing & production build and resolve them with feasible design solutions
• To interact with project CFT members to resolve design issues
• Visit to Supplier & Production facility to design related matters
• Preparation of DFMEA, DFA, DVP, SOR
• Interaction with Supplier & PE to resolve the technical issues.

Technical Requirements:

• Work experience in domain of Passenger cars w.r.t Body Architecture proposals, Style Feasibilities, Dimensional Layouts, Packaging layouts, Dynamic Envelopes
• Knowledge of BIW& Trims, joineries, stamping, welding technologies, BIW assembly process & fabrication.
• Good understanding of GD&T, Tolerance calculations, Part locating strategy, Manufacturing process & understanding of designing sheet metal, Plastic, Rubber, FRP, NVH & fabricated parts.
• Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements for automotive Body system parts
• Able to check the designs on CATIA-V5.
• Ability to handle independent Body related projects and responsible for individual team output.
