Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Hyderabad seeks a senior OT/DERMS consultant to lead client engagements, define solution architecture and drive delivery across DERMS/DRMS, ADMS, OMS and SCADA projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or similar technical domain.
• At least 10+ years of experience in utilities business and technical consulting, or relevant engagement implementation services as part of an OT/DERMS or SCADA.
• At least 5 years of experience in Electricity OT/DERMS systems.

Job description

Provides consulting services with technical and/or industry knowledge in Utility Operational Technologies (OT) with a focus on Distributed Energy Management Systems (DERMS), Demand Response Management Systems (DRMS), Electric Distribution Outage Management Systems (OMS), Advance Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems. Function in a lead role and as a technical specialist. Manage the client’s engagement as engagement manager. May provide technical guidance or supervise staff on engagements. Lead client facing meetings. Develop high-quality business and technical deliverables related to complex client engagements and ensure client satisfaction. Identify sales opportunities.

• Provide functional and technical expertise in various aspects of DERMS/DRMS implementations such as solution architecture, initial system design, requirements and gap analysis and system implementation support.
• Work on DERMS system business requirements definition, request for proposal development and product vendor evaluation.
• Consulting & execution of engagements to assist electric utilities with management of DERMS and ADMS system planning, Long term roadmap, implementation, testing and operation
• Responsible for evaluation of potential new OT system’s vendor partners, and the development of partnerships with key vendors.
• Responsible for proposal evaluation, selection process, statement of work development and vendor contract negotiation
• Support solution design, documentation, planning, implementation, vendor management, testing and acceptance

Technical Skills:

• Good understanding of DEMRS system functionalities (Registration & Grouping, Load Forecasting, Demand Management, Optimization, DER Scheduling & Dispatch, DER Operating Envelop, Network Congestion Management....)
• Use relevant utility experience to engage with client utilities to understand their specific applications, approaches and methodologies in Electric Distribution Operational systems
• Experience on DERMS implementation on-Prem or on Cloud (Azure/AWS)
• Hands on experience on any OEM ADMS & OMS of ABB / Oracle NMS / GE / Schneider / Siemens system.
• Knowledge on ADMS functionalities of Fault Management through FLISR/FDIR, Feeder Reconfiguration, Load-shed, Voltage VAR control, Distribution Load flow
• Experience of any programming language (Python, Java, .Net) and any database (SQL, MySQL)
• Proven knowledge of hardware, software and architecture include market trends and consulting level experience.
• Understanding of GIS (Smallworld, ESRI) & Smart AMI metering
• Experienced resource from Electric Utilities and/or Consulting Entities servicing this area will be preferred
• IT/OT and security standards (e.g., NERC CIP).
• Expertise in developing requirements, testing, acceptance and transition
• Knowledge of and a working familiarity with current standards, and regulations governing power systems

Industry Knowledge Capability:

• Good understanding of electric utility distribution planning, engineering and operations
• Understanding of electricity distributed generation, energy storage, and the controls associate with each
• Utilize specialized utility system design and planning knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across engagements or multiple phases of a more complex engagement
• Assess effectiveness of client’s use of tools, applications, processes to adapt to new OT applications for solution areas such as DERMS/DRMS/ADMS/OMS/SCADA
• Apply appropriate methods or recognized equivalent to identified client needs
• Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others
