Job summary

Sri Mateshwari Construction is seeking a Project Manager for Irrigation Projects to lead site operations, planning, and cost control on large irrigation schemes. You will supervise engineers, subcontractors, and materials, ensuring quality and timely project delivery.

Ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with 10–15 years in irrigation projects and at least 5 years as PM, with strong AutoCAD and MS Project/Primavera skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in irrigation, canal, barrage, or water resource projects.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and cost-control capabilities.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and site documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute irrigation projects from mobilization to handover.
• Prepare schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
• Ensure timely completion per project milestones.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress.
• Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and staff.
• Utilize manpower, machinery, and materials efficiently.
• Resolve technical and operational issues impacting progress.
• Ensure construction activities meet drawings, specs, and standards.
• Coordinate inspections and QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, government bodies, and stakeholders.
• Attend review meetings and submit progress reports.
• Address client observations and ensure timely compliance.
• Monitor costs against budgets; verify subcontractor work.
• Control wastage and optimize resources; support billing and cost analysis.
• Coordinate procurement; ensure timely materials and equipment availability.
• Maintain DPRs, progress reports, site records, and correspondence.
• Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports; document variations and claims.

Position: Project Manager Irrigation Projects

Reporting To: General Manager Projects / Head Projects
Location: Project Site (As Assigned)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute irrigation projects from mobilization to final handover.
• Prepare project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
• Ensure timely completion of work as per approved project milestones.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.

Site Management

• Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and supporting staff.
• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and construction materials.
• Resolve technical and operational issues affecting project progress.

Quality Control

• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate inspections and quality checks.
• Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.

Contract & Client Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, government departments, and other stakeholders.
• Attend review meetings and submit progress reports.
• Address client observations and ensure timely compliance.

Cost Control

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
• Verify subcontractor work and certification.
• Control wastage and optimize project resources.
• Support billing, measurements, and project cost analysis.

Material & Equipment Management

• Coordinate procurement requirements with the purchase department.
• Ensure timely availability of construction materials and equipment.
• Monitor inventory and prevent material shortages.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation including DPRs, progress reports, site records, and correspondence.
• Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports.
• Ensure proper documentation for billing, variations, and claims.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
• M.Tech in Water Resources/Irrigation (Preferred)

Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in irrigation, canal, barrage, weir, reservoir, cross-drainage, or water resource projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Project Manager.
