Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Limited invites applications for the role of Deputy Manager - Simulation & Modelling in Bengaluru. The role focuses on calibrating vehicle drivability, pedal, brake and regen maps, and engine torque paths to meet performance targets.

The candidate will work with simulation engineers, calibrate BMS and SoC sensor functions, and coordinate with software/validation teams to ensure calibration across variants.

Qualifications

• Experience in ECU/VCU drivability calibration projects.
• Exposure to calibration tools ETAS INCA, Visu, VECTOR CANOE, AVL.
• Overview of vehicle components and their functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Generate and calibrate vehicle pedal maps, brake maps, regen maps and related parameters.
• Perform vehicle-level drivability calibration to meet targets.
• Calibrate for range and energy consumption at in-house and homologation/test facilities.
• Use model-based calibration methods to pre-simulate functions before real calibration.
• Collaborate with simulation and modelling engineers to gather calibration insights.
• Calibrate sensors used for SoC measurement and BMS functions.
• Coordinate with architecture, software development and validation teams to achieve goals.
• Maintain calibration changes for different vehicle variants.
• Be able to perform limited test drives with a valid 4-wheeler license.

Deputy Manager - Simulation & Modelling

Roles and Responsibilities

• Generate and Calibrate Vehicle Pedal maps, Brake maps, Regen Maps and Parameters related to Torque Path, Creep control, Hill Hold Control, Vehicle tip-in/tip-out, Acceleration, Speed limitation, Torque limits etc.
• Perform Vehicle level drivability calibration/Torque Path calibration to meet Drivability targets.
• Perform Calibration for meeting Range and Energy Consumption Targets both at Inhouse and at Homologation/Certification/Test facilities.
• Work on model based calibration methods using pre-simulation of functions and features before actual calibration on vehicles.
• Work closely with Simulation and Modelling engineers to gather relevant insights relevant for calibration.
• Perform calibration of sensors used for SoC measurement.
• Perform calibration of Battery management system (BMS) functions.
• Perform Calibration of specific motor control parameters related to driveability.
• Coordinate with other departments such as architecture, software development & validation team to ensure achievement of calibration goals.
• Manage and maintain all calibration changes as applicable to different vehicle variants.
• Be able to take test drives of at least limited driving maneouvres and hold a valid 4wheeler driving license.

Functional Competencies

• Must have worked in at least any one ECU/VCU Drivability Calibration Project.
• Exposure to Calibration tools - ETAS INCA, Visu, VECTOR Cannoe, AVL.
• Must have overview of Vehicle components and its functionalities.
• Valid 4 wheeler driving license and ability to carry out at least simple limited test drives.
