Job summary

Punch Powertrain in India (Maharashtra) seeks an experienced calibration engineer to contribute to EV, CVT, DCT and hybrid powertrain programs. You will join the engineering team, conduct drivability calibration, torque coordination, and shift quality tests on dynamometers and real vehicles.

The role requires 6+ years in transmission or electrified powertrain calibration, strong knowledge of powertrain control, familiarity with ETAS INCA/CANape/CANalyzer, and a collaborative mindset for

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, electrical/electronics, mechatronics, or related field.
• 6+ years hands-on calibration in transmission or electrified powertrains.
• Strong drivability and powertrain control systems knowledge.
• Experience with CVT shift or DCT clutch calibration preferred.
• Proficient in calibration tools ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer.
• Good understanding of CAN networks and diagnostics.
• Exposure to OEM/Tier-1 automotive development environments preferred.
• Programming or scripting in Python, Bash, PERL, Java, or CAPL is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
• Team player with growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support EV, CVT, DCT, and Hybrid programs in India.
• Perform drivability calibration including launches, creep, shifts, torque coordination, and tip-in/out.
• Calibrate transmission control strategies for CVT, DCT, EV, and Hybrid.
• Execute testing on dynamometers, test benches, and vehicles.
• Analyze test data, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis.
• Support vehicle integration, demo builds, and calibration events.
• Collaborate with system, software, and hardware teams.
• Improve calibration and testing frameworks with other engineers.
• Document test results and calibration changes in reports.
• Participate in training and skill development.

• Join the Punch Powertrain engineering team supporting EV, CVT, DCT, and Hybrid powertrain programs in India.
• Perform drivability calibration including launch, creep, shift quality, torque coordination, tip-in/tip-out, and drive mode behavior.
• Calibrate and tune transmission control strategies for CVT, DCT, EV, and Hybrid powertrains.
• Execute testing on dynamometers, test benches, and vehicles (test tracks and public roads).
• Analyze test data, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis and closure.
• Support vehicle integration, demo builds, and calibration events.
• Collaborate closely with system, software, and hardware teams.
• Work with other calibration engineers to improve calibration and testing frameworks.
• Document test results, calibration changes, and analysis in engineering reports.
• Actively participate in training and technical skill development programs.

Your profile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 6+ years of hands‑on experience in transmission or electrified powertrain calibration.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle drivability fundamentals and powertrain control systems.
• Prior experience with CVT shift strategy or DCT clutch control calibration is highly preferred.
• Experience using automotive calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, or similar.
• Good understanding of vehicle networks (CAN, diagnostics, signals).
• Exposure to OEM / Tier-1 automotive development environments is highly preferred.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PERL, Java, or CAPL is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and debug software and hardware issues.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and passion for learning.
