Job summary

Eaton in Mumbai seeks an experienced MV field service engineer to provide end-to-end field service support for MV switchgear, RMU, VCBs and protection relays. You will perform commissioning, preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and breakdown support while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience, travel to customer sites, and collaboration with engineering, QA and sales teams to deliver timely service and customer delight.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on knowledge of MV switchgear and electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with RMUs, VCBs, breaker mechanisms, protection relays, CTs, PTs, busbars, control circuits and interlocking.
• Knowledge of protection schemes, relay settings and relay testing.
• Ability to read SLDs, control schematics, wiring diagrams and protection circuits.
• Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end field service for MV products including installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
• Diagnose issues related to RMU, VCBs, breakers, relays, CTs/PTs and interlocks.
• Perform insulation resistance, contact resistance, breaker timing and functional tests.
• Attend breakdown calls and ensure timely restoration of service.
• Prepare service, inspection, testing and RCA reports.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA, Sales and other functions.
• Travel extensively to customer sites and ensure safety and quality standards.

Job description

What you’ll do:Responsible for end-to-end field service support for Medium Voltage products, including MV switchgear RMU(33KV & 11KV), Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCBs), protection relays and associated systems. Independently execute commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, breakdown support, testing, customer support and technical issue resolution while ensuring safety, quality and timely service delivery.\"1.Execute installation, commissioning, testing, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of Medium Voltage switchgear(RMU, VCB etc) and associated equipment.2.
