Job summary

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Study of Contract/Agreement:
  • Study the major aspects of the project to understand scope of work.
  • Understand various milestones of the contract, its requirement and implications
  • Study of BOQ and technical specifications.
  • Identify any unique or challenging part of the project to be focused on.
• Planning and Execution
  • Study Baseline schedule and support the team in preparation of the schedule on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Ensuring timely retrieval of drawings to achieve monthly targets from necessary stakeholders.
  • Ensuring site progress in line with the agreed schedule.
  • Supporting PM in arranging the required resource and managing the same to achieve the project targets.
  • Planning daily – weekly works with team members ensure resource allocation and monitor adherence to the agreed schedule. Identifying gaps in the resource allocation for timely elevation and action wherever required.
  • Ensure availability and understanding of (WMS) work method statement with the execution team and get mock up approved from the client / PMC wherever required.
  • Guide the team assigned to the work on technicalities involved in the work, workmanship and Quality requirements and how to achieve the same without creating a re-work situation.
  • Ensure necessary inputs for updating all the reports which are to be generated from project.
  • Day to day coordination for necessary execution clearances with the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the PM in formulating the liquidation plan to tide over the setbacks.
  • Attend review meetings at Project site and conference calls with Client and/or PMC as and when required.
  • Supporting in estimating total requirement of resources (manpower, material, machinery) and ensuring timely indent is entered in the system for timely delivery of the project.
  • Optimum utilization of resources for safe and economic execution.
  • Ensuring proper hygiene and housekeeping is maintained at sites at all times.
  • Monitoring and supporting the hygiene of all common facilities (labor camp, office areas, etc.) to ensure safe & healthy environment.
  • Regular coordination with the sub-contractors and workers to understand and resolve the challenges being faced by them.
  • Accountable for providing uninterrupted front to the labor contractors and sub-contractors.
• Estimation and Billing
  • Ensuring for timely evaluation of quantities from all available drawings to plan resources in advance with respective section incharges.
  • Supporting for timely submission of measurements, documents and all necessary data from respective section incharges.
  • Submission of all site instruction notes to concerned subordinates.
  • Ensure timely submission of DDS and evaluate productivity of respective contractors for corrective actions.
• Quality Assurance and Control
  • Monitor adherence to the quality plan of the project.
  • Implementation of quality protocols at site to ensure zero defects.
• Safety
  • Monitor adherence to the safety plan of the project.
  • Implementation of safety protocols at site to ensure zero tolerance.
• Sub-Contractor Management
  • Provide the inputs to PM for 3rd party works and material supply by raising purchase request through planning and keep a regular check on the available material in stores.
  • Monitor labor supply contractors for adequate manpower supply and ensure that weekly allowances to workers and bills are processed.
  • Monitor third party works for timely supply and release of fronts in line with project schedule.
  • Monitor proper storage, preservation and use of bought-out materials.
• Special jobs and innovative approach:
  • Implement new methodologies for improving productivity and cost optimization wherever possible. Encourage subordinates to come up with such ideas and put to use after brainstorming.
• Team Building:
  • Inculcate spirit of team work.
  • Use work in hand to impart technical and practical knowledge to improve productivity and quality through daily discussion at sites.
  • Have regular interactions with the team members and identify area for training to improve their performance.
  • Training and developing immediate subordinates for the next role.
