Job summary

Godrej Properties seeks a Design Manager (Mechanical) in Mumbai to lead MEP design, review submissions, and ensure compliance with local/international codes. You will coordinate with architects, BIM teams, and consultants to integrate MEP into building design.

Required is a B.E. in Mechanical with 8–15 years experience or a Diploma in Mechanical, with strong communication and leadership skills for multi-project delivery.

Qualifications

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with 8–15 years of experience or Diploma in Mechanical.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design, codes, and coordination with architects and BIM team.
• Experience in design reviews, site coordination, and cost improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve MEP designs, DBR, and reports to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, BIM team and consultants to integrate MEP into design.
• Perform periodic site visits to review MEP installations and design implementation.
• Coordinate with procurement for cost/design inputs and tender discussions.
• Prepare technical submissions for authorities and maintain deliverables.

Designation (Mechanical)

Qualification & Experience - Candidate should be B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8-15 years or Diploma in Mechanical

Technical:-

1. 1. Complete understanding of local and international design standards, code & local authority requirements.
2. 2. Sound knowledge on Design calculations such as Water demand Calculations, Elevator Traffic Analysis, AC, equipment selection etc.
3. 3. Review and approve MEP designs / DBR / Reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and project specifications
4. 4. Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, BIM Team and consultants to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the design.
5. 5. MEP Infra design capabilities- Floor Risk analysis interpretation, Storm Water Design criteria’s, STP, etc6.
6. 6. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures relevant to mechanical/Mechanical and plumbing engineering.
7. 7. Value Engineering / suggestions on Mechanical design requirements
8. 8. Optimize MEP designs for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
9. 9. Improvise design and material specifications for cost optimisation
10. 10. Experience and macro level knowledge in Electrical & ELV system.
11. 11. Good understanding of architectural and structural drawings and design intent. Good in coordination of services.
12. 12. Periodic Site visits for review of quality MEP installations and design implementation.
13. 13. Good in Co- ordination with relevant stake holders for follow up and approvals.
14. 14. Good in Review and approval of consultant / vendor drawings and material submittals.
15. 15. Attending design / Site Meetings and providing technical solutions for design / site MEP issues.
16. 16. Coordination with Commercial and procurement team for cost/design inputs and tender technical discussions.
17. 17. Coordinate with liaising department.
18. 18. Active participation in meeting and discussions with valid inputs.
19. 19. Technical review of products for rate contract.
20. 20. Coordination and document preparation for Authority submission.
21. 21. Periodic status update on deliverables to management

Managerial:-
