Job summary

Adani Power Ltd. in India seeks a seasoned professional to lead project execution for thermal power plant turbine generator erection, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring milestone adherence, safety, and quality across all packages.

You will coordinate with OEMs (BHEL, GE, Siemens, Toshiba, Doosan), EPC contractors, and internal teams; manage planning, risk mitigation, and documentation to deliver on design parameters and contractual standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant Projects with TG erection and commissioning.
• Exposure to supercritical and ultra-supercritical plants preferred.
• Hands-on coordination with OEMs such as BHEL, GE, Siemens, Toshiba, Doosan, or equivalents.
• Experience in large-scale greenfield or brownfield expansions.

Responsibilities

• Execute erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of STG systems.
• Monitor project progress against schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPCs, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure closure of punch points and commissioning observations.

Project Execution

• Execute erection, installation, testing, and commissioning activities of Steam Turbine Generator (STG) systems and associated auxiliaries.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to approved project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for seamless project execution.
• Ensure timely closure of project punch points and commissioning observations.

Turbine & TG Package Management

• Supervise erection and alignment of turbine, generator, condensers, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and associated equipment.
• Review technical drawings, layouts, erection methodologies, and commissioning procedures.
• Monitor turbine rotor installation, bearing alignment, coupling alignment, and balance of plant interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with OEM guidelines during erection and commissioning activities.

Commissioning & Testing

• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of turbine systems.
• Monitor flushing, hydraulic tests, steam blowing, rolling, synchronization, and performance testing activities.
• Support trial operation and performance guarantee tests.
• Ensure achievement of design parameters during commissioning.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with contractors for manpower deployment and execution of project activities.
• Monitor contractor performance and productivity.
• Validate work completion and support certification of executed jobs.
• Ensure project deliverables meet contractual and technical specifications.

Planning & Coordination

• Track project schedules, material availability, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, Civil, Electrical, and C&I teams for timely project execution.
• Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support preparation of progress reports and management reviews.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, approved drawings, and project specifications.
• Conduct inspections and witness testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and project safety requirements.
• Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews.

Safety Management

• Ensure implementation of HSE practices and permit-to-work systems during execution.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections at project sites.
• Drive a zero-incident culture during erection and commissioning activities.

Qualifications
