Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) in Bengaluru (Devanahalli) seeks a Direct Raw Material Procurement lead to shape sourcing for Li-Ion cell materials. You will own category strategies, manage global and Indian suppliers, and drive cost optimization while ensuring quality and regulatory alignment.

This role emphasizes localization, supplier development, and ESG compliance, with collaboration across R&D, operations and finance to de‑risk supply chains and meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience.
• 8–15 years in Direct Raw Material Procurement of Chemicals.
• Preferable with Li-ion, chemical, or pharma background.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for Li‑Ion cell RM.
• Lead supplier identification, development, and performance management.
• Drive cost and value optimization using TCO and should‑costing.
• Monitor commodity markets and publish monthly insights for decisions.
• Lead contract strategy and negotiations with pricing KPIs and risk sharing.
• Drive alternate sourcing and localization to de‑risk supply chains.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, finance and project teams.
• Embed ESG, compliance and ethical sourcing across the supply base.

Exide Energy Solutions Ltd is setting up Indias first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium Ion Cells in Bengaluru. Exide Energy Solutions Limited is looking for Direct Raw Material Procurement in the Manufacturing organisation to achieve company's goal at Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural Manufacturing Location.

Job Location:

Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural

Eligibility:

This position is open only to Bachelor's graduates in Engineering. Candidates with a Diploma or qualifications in other disciplines are not eligible to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for Li-Ion cells RMs aligned with long‑term capacity and cost targets.
• Lead supplier identification, development, and performance management across global and Indian suppliers.
• Drive cost and value optimization using TCO, should-costing, and structured negotiations.
• Monitor commodity markets, global indices, and battery material price trends; publish monthly Commodity Insights for decision‑making.
• Lead contract strategy and negotiations including pricing mechanisms, KPIs and risk‑sharing models.
• Drive alternate sourcing and India localization roadmaps to de‑risk supply chains while maintaining quality and technical compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, finance, and project teams to align sourcing with technical and commercial needs.
• Embed ESG, compliance, and ethical sourcing across the battery supply base.

Localisation:

• Identify and qualify Indian suppliers for battery materials and components.
• Develop phased localization plans aligned with, import substitution, and cost‑reduction goals.
• Support supplier capability development to meet battery‑grade quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Must have hands on with 8-15 years experience in Direct Raw Material Procurement of Chemicals.

Preferable with Lithium Ion / Chemical / Pharma back ground manufacturing
