Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead engine assembly, testing and performance activities on the shop floor. You will drive production targets, quality, cost control and customer satisfaction for internal/external stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of TS16949/ISO standards, and collaboration with planning, supply chain and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile engineering.
• Experience: B.Tech 3–6 years; Diploma 7–10 years.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of engine assembly, testing and performance parameters.
• Deliver results in production volume, quality, cost and customer delight (internal and external).
• Support peers and subordinates to achieve PQCDSM objectives.
• Maintain good employee relations and develop cell members’ skills via multi-skilling and innovation.
• Assist management in shop floor activities.
• Interact with supply chain, planning, maintenance and quality to meet production and quality targets.
• Ensure effective communication with cell members and maintain cordial relationships.
• Maintain health, morale and safety of cell members.
• Ensure compliance with TS16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in the department.
• Knowledge of TPM implementation.
• Encourage active participation in improvement projects (OIT, CIT, Kaizens) contributing to revenue savings.
• Drive process development and improvements to enhance productivity, quality, delivery and reduce cost with customer focus.
• Knowledge of testing parameters for Tier 4 and Tier 3 and BS 4 Engine Emission Norms affecting them.

DY. Manager Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Knowledge of Engine Assembly, Testing and Performance parameters of the Engines.
• To deliver results in terms of Production volume, Quality, Cost and Customer delight both internal and external.
• To help the peer and subordinates to fulfil the organizations objectives related to PQCDSM.
• To maintain good employee relations and develop the skill of the cell members in terms of multi skilling and innovation.
• Assisting management in various activities in shop floor.
• Regular interaction with Supply chain, Planning, Maintenance and Quality to deliver the Production and Quality targets.
• Ensuring effective communication with cell members for building cordial relationship.
• Ensure and maintain Health, Morale and Safety of cell members.
• Ensuring system documentation under TS16949, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001requirements in the department.
• Knowledge in TPM implementation.
• Ensure active participation of all employees in several improvement projects such as OIT, CIT, Kaizens etc and contributing to revenue savings.
• Responsible for process development and improvement in the existing processes for improving the Productivity, Quality, Delivery and reducing Cost with high customer centric approach.
• Knowledge of Testing Parameters of Tier 4 and Tier 3 and BS 4 Engine Emission Norms and Parameters effecting them.
