Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited is seeking a Deputy Manager - Dimensional Engineering to drive GD&T activities for sheet metal and trim parts. You will coordinate datum schemes, perform 1D/3D tolerance stack-ups, identify critical characteristics, and document quality targets.

You will approve GD&T components, develop system-level analyses, and work with fixture suppliers to certify tooling. Requires 5-7 years of experience and BE/ME in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Ability to create, edit, modify GD&T drawings for sheet metal and trim parts.
• Coordinate datum schemes (locator logic) and assembly.
• Perform 1D and 3D tolerance stack-up studies and document on drawings.
• Identify Critical Characteristics and document on drawings per analytical results.
• Define and document quality goals for dimensional and functional criteria.
• Prepare and validate DTS documents and certify fixtures.
• Work with cross-functional teams including design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing.
• Experience 5-7 years; mid-level role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tolerance stack-up studies (1D/3D) and evaluate against GD&T specs.
• Approve final released GD&T components and BIW/assembly drawings.
• Develop system-level dimensional analyses using interfacing parts.

Deputy Manager - Dimensional Engineering Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Ability to create, edit, modify GD&T drawings for the sheet metal and trim parts. Coordinate all datum schemes (locator logic) and assembly. Perform 1D and 3d tolerance stack up studies, Identify Critical Characteristics and document on drawings, based on analytical results. Perform comparison studies of measured data versus objectives and GD&T specification MCR’s/Nom Shift/Tol Relief. Research and analyze data such as RSS, specifications, component tooling tolerances to determine design feasibility. Define and document quality goals (dimensional and functional) by developing quality objective targets on key product criteria. Check and approve final released GD&T components and assembly drawings , BIW drawings Measurement point and fixture certification data generation. Responsible for obtaining dimensional requirements for interfacing parts to develop system level analyses. Work with inspection fixture suppliers to develop concepts, ensure fabrication of fixtures meet specifications and certify fixtures. Purchased parts – responsible to provide dimensional approval for tool texturing authorization. Participate in fit validation activities, root cause and define solutions. Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team: design, tooling, CAE, quality, manufacturing.
