Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced professional to drive component development, supplier management, and cost optimization across RFQ to SOP. You will assess supplier proposals, manage proto development, and coordinate cross-functionally to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires 4–8 years in automotive engineering, BE/B.Tech in related discipline, and strong SAP/MS Office skills with extensive supplier travel.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Production or related engineering discipline.
  • 4-8 years of experience in automotive/component development and supplier management.
  • Experience with RFQ, TSO, technical evaluation, and cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFM/DFM and automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Strong MS Office and SAP proficiency; effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to supplier sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage component development from RFQ through design finalization, development, validation, tooling and SOP.
  • Handle RFQ, TSO, technical evaluation, commercial quotes, quote synthesis and drive should costing.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, feasibility, capacity, tooling and investment needs.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier and Programme teams for development.
  • Drive should-costing, cost benchmarking, VA/VE, localization and cost reduction.
  • Manage supplier readiness for prototype, validation, pre-production and SOP.
  • Track tooling, prototype parts, FTG and development milestones; ensure timely closure.
  • Support supplier development for quality, delivery, capacity and process capability.
  • Manage commercial activities including price finalization, tooling cost and escalation/de-escalation.
  • Resolve supplier issues impacting programme timing, cost or readiness.
  • Ensure APQP/PPAP and Mahindra quality requirements are met.
  • Release PR/PO, proto PO, assessment of proto quotes and evaluation of quotes.
