Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a Mechanical Construction Lead to drive site execution of mechanical systems for power and industrial projects. You will supervise erection, installation, alignment, and commissioning readiness, and coordinate with EPC contractors to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Preferred:M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification in Project Management, Primavera P6, or PMP.

  • Lead site construction activities for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and subcontractors to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Review construction schedules, monitor progress, and manage resources.
  • Ensure safety compliance and QA/QC procedures on site.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, EHS, and Commissioning teams.
  • Support commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.

Job description

Purpose/Objective
  • To lead and execute Mechanical Construction activities for power and industrial infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • The role will be responsible for site execution, contractor coordination, construction planning, progress monitoring, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities of Role
  • Mechanical Construction Execution - Manage site construction activities related to Mechanical systems and equipment.
    Supervise erection, installation, alignment, and commissioning readiness of critical plant equipment.
    Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
    Drive daily, weekly, and monthly construction targets.
  • BTG & BoP Construction Execute and monitor installation of:
    - Boiler & Auxiliaries
    - Steam Turbine & Generator
    - Coal Handling Plant (CHP)
    - Ash Handling Plant (AHP)
    - Cooling Water System
    - Water Treatment & DM Plant
    - Fire Water System
    - Mechanical Equipment & Piping Networks
    - Pumps, Tanks, Compressors, and Rotating Equipment
    - Balance of Plant (BoP) Systems
  • Contractor Management - Coordinate with EPC contractors and subcontractors for effective project execution.
    - Monitor contractor productivity and adherence to project schedules.
    - Conduct progress review meetings and resolve construction bottlenecks.
    - Verify work completion and certifications as per contractual requirements.
  • Planning & Monitoring - Review construction schedules and monitor project progress.
    Identify risks, delays, and resource constraints.
    Coordinate with planning teams for milestone achievement.
    Ensure availability of manpower, materials, and equipment at site.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance - Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and project HSE requirements.
    Promote a zero-harm safety culture across construction teams.
    Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality checks.
    Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination - Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, EHS, and Commissioning teams.
    Support site issue resolution and interface management.
    Ensure mechanical completion and punch point closure.
  • Commissioning Support - Facilitate smooth handover of mechanical systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
    Support troubleshooting during startup and commissioning stages.
    Ensure readiness of systems before final handover.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential - Full-Time BE/B.
    Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Preferred - M.
    Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification in Project Management, Primavera P6, or PMP.
  • Additional certifications in Construction Management or Safety Management will be an advantage.
