Job summary

Flakt India is seeking a mechanical engineer to design and optimize CDU solutions for data centres and industrial cooling. You will perform thermal-hydraulic calculations, select plate heat exchangers, pumps, valves and piping to deliver energy‑efficient, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Thermal Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–8 years of experience in HVAC, liquid cooling, Data Centre cooling, hydronic systems, or thermal management.
• Experience with CDU systems, chilled water systems, heat exchangers, pumps, and piping design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design CDU and liquid cooling solutions based on customer requirements.
• Perform thermal and hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and system optimization.
• Select and size PHEs, pumps, valves, and secondary-side piping systems.
• Prepare technical submittals, equipment schedules, engineering calculations, and documentation.
• Support sales teams with proposals, compliance statements, tender reviews, and customer presentations.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and project execution activities.
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and resolution of hydraulic/thermal performance issues.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, industry standards, and company guidelines.

Role Purpose
Design and optimize Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) solutions for Data Centre and industrial cooling applications. Responsible for thermal-hydraulic calculations, selection of Plate Heat Exchangers (PHEs), pumps, valves, and piping systems to deliver energy-efficient, cost-effective, and technically compliant solutions.
