Job summary

Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, a unit of Schneider Electric India, seeks a Deputy Manager - BBT Design & Engineer to lead busway design and documentation in Ahmednagar. The role demands 3–5 years in busway, power distribution, or electrical design engineering with strong CAD/BIM skills.

Responsibilities include design, calculations, submittals, BOMs, and customer coordination across projects in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Busway/Busduct systems, Power Distribution, Switchgear, or Electrical Design Engineering.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, data centre, infrastructure, oil & gas, or utility projects preferred.
• Knowledge of busway manufacturers' products and applications desirable.
• Familiarity with IEC/IS/IEEE/NEMA/UL standards and electrical design practices.
• AutoCAD and engineering drawing preparation; REVIT/3D modelling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, RFQs, tender documents, and project requirements.
• Design and configure busway systems based on project requirements.
• Perform sizing calculations considering load, voltage drop, short-circuit withstand, temperature rise, and installation conditions.
• Prepare technical submittals, drawings, layout plans, SLDs, and busway routing proposals.
• Develop BOM and product selection documentation.
• Provide presales support to sales team.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Support site engineers regarding installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of busway systems.
• Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Maintain engineering records, design calculations, and revision control.

Technical Application & Design

• Review customer specifications, RFQs, tender documents, and project requirements.

• Provide technical clarifications to customers during bidding and project execution stages.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Support site engineers regarding installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of busway systems.
• Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.

Engineering Design & Documentation

• Prepare general arrangement drawings, busway routing drawings, support details, and installation guidelines.
• Maintain engineering records, design calculations, and revision control documentation.
• Ensure compliance with quality management procedures and engineering standards.

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, IEEE, NEMA, UL, and relevant customer standards.
• Verify system performance regarding short-circuit ratings, IP protection, temperature rise, and safety requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and value engineering activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Support product development and customization initiatives.
• Analyse field issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Contribute to design standardization, cost optimization, and process improvements.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in Busway/Busduct systems, Power Distribution, Switchgear, or Electrical Design Engineering.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, data centre, infrastructure, oil & gas, or utility projects preferred.
• Knowledge of busway manufacturers' products and applications is desirable.
