Job Purpose

Lead a team to plan and deliver on piping design for strip processing lines that enable to achieve operational excellence and support the growth objectives of the organisation.

• Piping design for inter-connecting and furnace, new projects, and sustenance.
• Meeting the targets around Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Innovation mindset to bring in new designs to improve functionality and reduce cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage team of piping engineers and designers to deliver piping design, BOQ in 3D platform (UsingPlant 3D).
• Piping output should be as per applicable Industry standards and safety norms.
• Work in close co-ordination with other functional team members of mechanical, furnace and technical project management.
• Create and check engineering related documents as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and Design Approval Matrix.
• Aid manufacturing in case of any design queries.
• Keep themselves abreast of the new technologies and imbibe the same in piping design and development.
• Communicating with customer and participating in technical discussions.
• Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.

Education and Experience

• The candidate should be BE/B TECH in Mechanical / Production Engineering from Reputed college.
• 15 to 20 years in Piping design, from Metal/Oil/Gas Industry.
• Candidate worked in multinational company will be an added advantage.

Background, Skills, and Competencies

• Team leader managing piping output with engineers and designers.
• Conversant with piping engineering for different media (hydraulic, lubrication, air, water, steam, different gases) relevant for the steel processing industry (CGL, CCL, CAL, pickling line, reversing mill etc.).
• Familiar with different standards (material & dimensional) and safety norms.
• AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor and Plant 3D proficiency.
• Ability to bring innovation in design to improve functionality and reduce cost.
• Good Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Team management (planning, delegation, review)
• Ability to work in an Agile environment in a Collaborative way
