Job summary

Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTS) in Chennai seeks Deputy General Manager - Platform Architect to own end-to-end telecom lifecycle platform architecture, spanning onboarding, orchestration, assurance, and decommissioning.

You will translate business requirements into scalable platform roadmaps, define integration patterns for OSS/BSS, RAN, Core, cloud, and third parties, and lead decisions on microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD and IaC while ensuring security and multi-tenant

Qualifications

• Deep telecom architecture knowledge across RAN, core networks and IP transport.
• Experience with OSS/BSS, network orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs, eTom, and SID standards.
• Understanding of intent-based networks, AI/ML in telecom, and automation.
• Expertise in cloud-native, microservices, and API-driven design.
• Multi-cloud and hybrid architecture with AWS/Azure/GCP/on‑prem.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture of a telecom lifecycle platform.

• Mentor engineering teams and enforce best practices (DevSecOps, testing, code reviews).
• Collaborate with product, operations, and customers to prioritize features and SLAs.
• Optimize cost, performance, and scalability across cloud/on-prem deployments and hybrids.
• Evaluate emerging telecom technologies and incorporate into platform roadmap.

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture of a telecom lifecycle platform covering onboarding, orchestration, assurance, and decommissioning.
• Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, resilient platform solutions and roadmaps.
• Define platform integration patterns and APIs for OSS/BSS, RAN, Core, cloud, and third-party systems.
• Lead platform development decisions: microservices, containerization (Kubernetes), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Ensure platform security, compliance, data governance, and multi-tenant isolation across environments.
• Drive observability: logging, metrics, tracing, automated alerting, and SRE-led runbooks.
• Mentor engineering teams, set architecture standards, and enforce best practices (DevSecOps, testing, code reviews).
• Collaborate with product, operations, and customers to prioritize features, SLAs, and lifecycle automation.

• Understanding of intent-based networks, AI/ML in telecom, and automation
• Enterprise architecture and solution design (microservices, event-driven, cloud-native)
• API design and integration patterns (REST, gRPC, Kafka, messaging queues)
