Job Summary
If you are a DCS professional, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Project Engineer to work with our energetic Power Greenfield team. You will work independently and/or as part of a team to design and implement projects, with adequate experience in Hardware Engineering, Panel design, and understanding the Network Architecture on Emerson's Ovation platform for Power Generation and Water treatment in India. Responsibilities include conducting project Design Review Meetings, Customer Workshops, Factory/Site Acceptance Tests, site commissioning activities, and possibly traveling up to 40% depending on project needs.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end project design engineering
- Implement Greenfield Power Water and Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) projects efficiently
- Experience in Hardware Engineering, Panel design, Network Architecture, and Buyouts
- Understanding of buyouts such as HMI, Servers, Cables, Control desks, Field Instruments, Relays, Barriers, UPS, Chargers, LVS, etc.
- Site walk-downs for data collection, IO list preparation
- Preparation of cable schedules, engineering documentation, technical quotations, and business/customer correspondence
- Understanding of project cycle, time management, and production phases
- Awareness of technical risks during project execution and site activities
- Experience in Pre-FAT, conducting customer FAT (HW, SW), and SAT
- Support procurement team and create procurement requisitions
- Work with contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors
- Verify and test I/O interfaces, supervise control system installation, commissioning, and start-up
- Effective communication with global teams

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation, or related field
- 7+ years project engineering experience with DCS/PLCs, including 4+ years with Emerson
- Experience in hardware design, procurement, control design, and process testing for Power and water treatment plants
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and schematics, proficiency with ISA and SAMA symbols, PIDs, and schematics
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
- Ability to write reports and technical documents
- Proficiency with DCS/PLC platforms and communication protocols like Modbus, OPC, Profibus
