Role & responsibilities
Job Description:

Purpose:

DC manager supervises the employees in a warehouse. This is a key position, as the warehouse manager is responsible for all DC activities from receiving and storing to the dispatching of orders to the HUBs and Dark stores. He supervises the team on their day‑to‑day activities for smooth operations. He is also in charge of planning operations and activities with the company’s budget in mind. At the same time, he needs to address any issues within the organization and promulgate solutions that can resolve such problems.

He will be reporting to RBH directly and dotted to SCM‑Head. He should provide a safe working environment to all staff, vendors, and others present in his premises.

  • Reviews incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Monitors warehouse workers and associated activities; offers assistance to those with concerns or problems on the work floor.
  • Ensures that products delivered are stored in an organized manner, so that quality is maintained and accessibility is achieved.
  • Creates a layout plan that streamlines the storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Implements worker safety and health regulations.
  • Plans projects and sets objectives for employees to meet.
  • Responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinates with hub managers or internal customers regarding discrepancies and errors in the supply chain process.
  • Addresses logistical problems and furnishes solutions to these issues.
  • Meets with other managers to confer about products, shipping times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
  • Returns management: RTV vs TI, PRN vs TI
  • Waste management process as per the SOP released by SCM
  • Controlling & regulating Market Purchase in DC
  • Monitoring the 2nd sale process as per SOP
  • Ensure to follow the end‑to‑end Cold chain process
  • Loss & prevention of damaged & lost assets
  • Maintain open dialogue with other management to coordinate activities and improve performance and productivity
  • Recording all the assets available and circulate assets audit report
  • Daily briefing & arranging review meeting with all teams
  • Identifying training requirements of staff and align with Regional Training Heads (e.g., Pickers Bottom 10% Performance)

Every 3 month

The above metrics are for all lines of business T1, T2, Express and Kirana

Preferred candidate profile

Background

An aspiring distribution center manager should have prior experience in the fields of business, supply chain management, and operations management.

Work Experience

One must know the ins and outs of the distribution center before he can effectively supervise it. On average, employers require distribution center managers to have at least 8 years of experience on the floor before promoting them.
