Job Description

Day Billing Staff is responsible for handling routine hospital billing activities during the day shift, including patient billing, charge entry, payment processing, bill verification, and coordination with clinical and administrative departments. The ensures accurate and timely billing while maintaining proper documentation and patient-service standards.

• Prepare and process OPD, IPD, diagnostic, procedure, and other patient bills.
• Verify patient details and applicable hospital services.
• Ensure accurate entry of service charges, medicines, consumables, and procedures.
• Coordinate with clinical departments for charge verification.
• Prepare estimates and interim bills as required.
• Process cash, card, digital, and other authorized payments.
• Issue receipts and maintain payment records.
• Assist with final billing and discharge settlement.
• Coordinate with insurance and TPA teams where applicable.
• Resolve routine billing-related queries from patients and attendants.
• Verify discounts and billing adjustments according to approved procedures.
• Monitor pending and incomplete billing transactions.
• Perform daily billing reconciliation as assigned.
• Coordinate with accounts and finance departments.
• Maintain billing registers, records, and supporting documents.
• Identify and report billing discrepancies to the billing supervisor.
• Assist with refunds and adjustments according to authorization.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
