About the Role

We are seeking a talented Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL) to support, optimize, and scale our cloud database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our AWS-hosted databases while collaborating closely with engineering and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Aurora PostgreSQL clusters on AWS.
• Handle backup, restore, replication, and failover configurations for production systems.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database health using Amazon CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and other tools.
• Implement and enforce database security, compliance, and cost optimization best practices.
• Partner with DevOps and application teams to support scalable deployments and efficient data workflows.

Required Skills

• Hands‑on experience managing Aurora PostgreSQL databases in production.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC networking.
• Strong SQL skills with a focus on query tuning, index optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with replication, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible is a plus.
