Ideagen is seeking a Database Engineer II to join our Database Engineering team in Hyderabad. You will support critical database platforms powering our global product portfolio. The role focuses on performance optimization, migrations, automation, and operational excellence.

You will work with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, handle backups and HA, participate in code reviews, and contribute to modernization efforts while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and quality.

Formación

• 2+ years in database engineering or DBA role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with backups, high availability, monitoring and security.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and infra automation.
• Good communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver maintenance, performance tuning, and migrations across the DB estate.
• Own medium-complexity work from requirements to release.
• Troubleshoot production DB issues and drive improvements.

At Ideagen, we're looking for a Database Engineer II to join our Database Engineering team and help support the critical database platforms that power our global portfolio of products.As a Database Engineer II, you will deliver database engineering work with increasing independence across SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. You'll play a key role in database performance optimization, migrations, automation, and operational excellence while leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver database maintenance, performance tuning, and migration activities across our database estate.
• Own medium-complexity work from requirements through to implementation and release.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues while contributing to long-term improvements.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery, validating outputs for quality, security, and accuracy.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and database modernization initiatives.
• Write and maintain automated tests and validation checks as part of your definition of done.
• Participate in code reviews, providing thoughtful feedback and helping raise engineering standards.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and modern Git-based workflows.

Skills and Experience

• Solid experience in database engineering, database administration, or a similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and database operations.
• Experience with backups, high availability, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, source control, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning.
