Job summary

• Solid experience in database engineering and administration.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with performance tuning.
• Experience with backups, high availability, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, source control, and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver database maintenance, performance tuning, and migration activities across our database estate.
• Own medium-complexity work from requirements through to implementation and release.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues; contribute to long-term improvements.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while validating outputs for quality, security and accuracy.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and database modernization initiatives.
• Write and maintain automated tests and validation checks as part of the definition of done.
• Participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Git-based workflows.

At Ideagen, we're looking for a Database Engineer II to join our Database Engineering team and help support the critical database platforms that power our global portfolio of products.As a Database Engineer II, you will deliver database engineering work with increasing independence across SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. You'll play a key role in database performance optimization, migrations, automation, and operational excellence while leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver database maintenance, performance tuning, and migration activities across our database estate.
