Job summary

Coeo in Hyderabad, India seeks an experienced Database Administrator to grow with the company and pursue Microsoft certifications. You will document data standards, collaborate with teams, optimize performance, and ensure security and backups.

The role includes hybrid work with 1 day in the office and a focus on MySQL, Postgres and MSSQL in a Windows/Linux environment. You will contribute to data integrity, disaster recovery planning, and smooth operation while supporting applications and

Qualifications

• 6+ years of database administration experience or similar
• Experience with database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and data security
• Proficient with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL and related DBMSs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
• Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies
• Hands-on with Git and version control systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, procedures, and definitions for data elements and tables.
• Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications with other teams.
• Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating new technologies.
• Support users and developers by resolving data-related issues and guiding best practices.
• Perform regular database maintenance: backups, defragmentation, replication.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems with monitoring and tuning.
• Ensure smooth information flow and reliable database operation.
• Implement data security, access controls, backups, and recovery plans.

Coeo is recruiting a strong Database Administrator, well give you the opportunity to grow and develop your capabilities as well as support you through Microsoft certifications. Youll have experience in:

Experience:

• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for data elements and tables in the company.


• Identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications by working collaboratively with other teams.


• Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new database technologies.


• Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.


• Execute regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation, backups, and database replication.


• Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems, including monitoring, patching, tuning and troubleshooting issues.


• Provide a seamless flow of information by keeping the database running smoothly.


• Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls, backups and recovery plans.


• Support ongoing database operations to support application and customer activities

Expertise you will bring in:

• 6+ years of experience in database administration or in a similar role


• Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and data security


• Extensive knowledge of container orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes


• Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, Postgres and MSSQL


• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues


• Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies


• Strong knowledge of version control systems and hands-on experience with Git.

Nice to Have's:

• Experience in on-call rotation


• Additional database platform experience (DB2, Oracle, etc.)


• Previous experience as a mentor or advisor
