Job summary

Cloud4C Services is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Azure SQL and cloud database services. The role focuses on performance, integrity, and security of both on-premise and cloud SQL Server environments, including migrating databases to Azure and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Managed Instances, or SQL Database on Azure VMs.
• Strong understanding of T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Redgate, SolarWinds, or native Azure monitoring.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation for database maintenance.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support SQL Server 2016–2022 and Azure SQL Database environments.
• Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies using AlwaysOn, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Azure-native solutions.
• Plan and execute migrations to Azure, including assessments, testing, and validation.
• Monitor and optimize performance using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMVs, and Azure Monitor.
• Implement and maintain security policies including RBAC, encryption, auditing, and data governance compliance.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure Automation.
• Manage backup strategies in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Applications, and Infrastructure teams for efficient database solutions.
• Provide 24/7 support for production databases on rotation basis.
• Document database architecture, procedures, and environment changes.
