Premier Inn Hotels LLC (UAE) is looking for a knowledgeable Database Administrator – Level 2 to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems. The role demands extensive experience (5+ years) in managing databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

The ideal candidate will install, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot database systems effectively while also providing Level 2 support for incidents. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and certifications in AWS or Oracle SQL would be preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database management.
• Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning techniques.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments like Azure and AWS.

Experience: 5+ Years

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch database software including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Manage and maintain database environments across development, testing, and production systems.
• Perform database housekeeping activities including capacity planning, backup validation, and space management.
• Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting.
• Monitor database performance and optimize through indexing, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and resource optimization.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues such as deadlocks, blocking, performance degradation, replication failures, and data corruption.
• Provide Level 2 (L2) support and beyond, handling escalated incidents and root‑cause analysis.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Hands‑on experience with HA/DR architectures, database security, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning techniques, and monitoring tools.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Higher education (Master’s degree or equivalent) is an added advantage.
