Job summary

Praxair India Private Limited, part of Linde’s Digitalisation arm, seeks a Data Scientist for its AI Hub in Bangalore. The role focuses on extending and building AI products across multiple use cases, deriving insights from diverse data sources, and deploying models to production. Strong Python and SQL skills, plus experience with ML/DL and visualization, are essential.

The position is on-site in Bangalore, with opportunities to impact global AI initiatives and collaborate across the value chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computational Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
• Strong understanding of multivariate statistics, machine and deep learning concepts
• Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques with data
• Hands-on experience with preprocessing, feature engineering and data cleansing
• Background in engineering or technology roles is a plus
• Strong Python knowledge and SQL for large data handling in business contexts
• Knowledge of data architectures and data visualization tools is a plus
• Excellent communication and project-structuring skills
• Very good English skills required
• Hands-on experience with DevOps and Azure ML, Airflow, MLflow or similar tools

Responsibilities

• Support Linde's global AI initiatives by extending existing AI products and building new ones across use cases
• Work with diverse data sources to derive actionable insights
• Develop, customize and manage AI software with ML and DL backends
• Assist in replication of existing products and pipelines to other systems
• Contribute to architectural design and data requirement definitions for new developments
• Interact with business functions to identify opportunities with potential business impact and deploy models to production

Making an impact. What will you do?

• As a DataScientist AI you will support Linde's Global initiatives withextending existing and building new AI productsfora vast amount ofuses cases across Linde’s business and value chain
• You will work directly witha variety of differentdatasources, types and structuresto derive actionableinsights
• Develop, customize and manageAI software productsbased on Machine and Deep Learningbackends will be your primary tasks
• Your role includes strong support on replication of existing products and pipelines to other systemsin the global AI team
• In addition to that you will support in architecturaldesignand defining data requirements for new developments
• It will be your responsibility to interactwith business functions in identifying opportunitieswith potential business impact andto supportdevelopment and deployment of models into production

Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes?

• You have a Bachelor orMastersDegree inData Science, Computational Statistics, Applied Mathematics,Computer Science or related field
• Further to that you have a strong understanding of and practical experiencewithMultivariateStatistics, Machine and Deep LearningandProbabilityconcepts
• You gained experienceinarticulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at a solution using available data
• You demonstrate hands-on experience with preprocessing, feature engineering, feature selection and data cleansing on real world datasets
• Preferably you have work experience in an engineering or technology role
• You bring a strong backgroundofPython incl. standard libraries andhandling large data sets using SQL in a business environment
• You have a sound knowledge of data architecturesand concepts, practical experience in the visualization of large datasets,e.g.withTableau or PowerBI is a plus
• Result driven mindset andexcellentcommunication skills with high social competence gives you the ability to structure a project from idea to experimentationto prototype to implementation
• Very good English skills are required
• As a plus you have hands-on experience withDevOps andMS Azure, experience in Azure ML or Airflow, experience in MLflow or similar.
