Qualifications

Data Science Lead – ML / Data Science / AI (BFSI)

Experience:8 – 12 Yrs

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Science Lead with strong hands‑on experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and AI solutions within the BFSI domain, preferably Life Insurance. The candidate should have evolved into a technical leadership role and be capable of leading multiple projects or large‑scale AI programs. The role involves drivingAI-led transformation acrossunderwriting, claims, customerexperience, fraud detection, and risk analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions for Life Insurance business use cases such as underwriting, claims automation, persistency, and fraud detection
• Manage and delivermultiple AI/ML projectsor 1–2 large-scale programs end-to-end
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate insurance-specific requirements into data‑driven solutions
• Drive solution architecture, model development, featureengineering, and optimization
• Ensure best practices in model validation, deployment, governance, and monitoring
• Work with cross‑functional teams including actuarial, underwriting, claims, and distribution teams
• Stay updated with advancements in AI, Generative AI, and AgenticAI

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong hands‑on experience in Machine Learningalgorithms and Data Science techniques
• Proficiency in Python,PySpark, and ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience in building and deploying end-to-end ML pipelines
• Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Experience workingwith large datasetsand distributed systems
• Understanding of Life Insurance processes such as underwriting, claims,policy servicing, and risk assessment
• Experience in building AI models for fraud detection, customer segmentation, churn prediction, or pricing analytics
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the insurancesector

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Generative AI (Gen AI) solutions such as LLMs,prompt engineering, or fine-tuning
• Experience with AgenticAI systems or autonomous AI workflows
• Experience with cloud platforms(AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
