Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a Data Quality Engineer to enhance data validation across enterprise pipelines in Pune. You will design checks for ETL/ELT processes, validate data movement, and ensure reporting accuracy.

You will work with Data Eng., Analytics, and QA teams to uphold data governance and quality standards. The role requires 6–10 years in data quality, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience in ETL testing and BI validation.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in Data Quality Engineering or QA.
• Strong expertise in ETL testing, data validation, and data quality frameworks.
• Hands-on SQL and Python for test automation and data checks.
• Experience with BI/report testing and API/web services testing.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud data pipelines is a plus.

We are seeking a skilled Data Quality Engineer to join our growing data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Data Quality Engineering, ETL Testing, BI/Report Testing, API Testing, and Data Validation processes. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data pipelines, reporting systems, and cloud-based data platforms. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Business teams to maintain high standards of data quality and governance across the organization.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and implement data quality checks and validation frameworks for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Validate source-to-target data movement and ensure data accuracy across multiple systems.
• Perform ETL testing to verify transformation logic, business rules, and data integrity.
• Conduct BI and report testing to ensure accurate reporting, dashboards, and analytics outputs.
• Test REST APIs and web services to validate data exchanges and integration workflows.
• Validate cloud-based data pipelines with a focus on AWS environments and modern data platforms.
• Perform data profiling, reconciliation, completeness checks, and consistency validation.
• Develop and maintain automated data validation scripts using Python.
• Create and execute comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
• Identify, analyze, document, and track data quality issues and defects.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to resolve defects and improve data quality.
• Generate testing reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
• Support release validation, regression testing, and production readiness reviews.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospective activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for data governance and testing standards.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 6–10 years of experience in Data Quality Engineering, ETL Testing, Data Validation, or QA Engineering.
• Strong experience in Data Quality Management and Data Validation processes.
• Expertise in ETL Testing, Data Warehouse Testing, and Data Integration validation.
• Hands-on experience with BI/Report Testing and analytics validation.
• Experience testing APIs, Web Services, and enterprise integrations.
• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, querying, reconciliation, and validation.
• Strong Python programming skills for test automation and data quality checks.
• Experience with Informatica Data Validation or similar data quality platforms.
• Experience validating cloud-based data pipelines and workflows, preferably on AWS.
• Expertise in data profiling, reconciliation, and source-to-target data validation.
• Strong understanding of data quality frameworks and automated testing methodologies.
• Experience with Jira, X-Ray, HP ALM, or similar test management tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience creating test strategies, test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
