Job summary

Data>Nuance in Pune, India, seeks a Data Privacy Consultant to advise global clients on governance, compliance implementation, and data governance strategy. You will work with senior executives, DPOs, engineers, and cross-functional teams to build robust privacy ecosystems.

Responsibilities include designing privacy programs, conducting DPIAs and data mapping, supporting GDPR/DPDP Act 2023 compliance, drafting notices and policies, and guiding privacy-by-design with product teams.

Qualifications

• 13 years of hands-on experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, or GRC consulting.
• Strong understanding of GDPR, DPDP Act 2023, CCPA/CPRA, and global regulatory frameworks.
• Working knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 27701, NIST, CIS or similar standards.
• Experience with privacy gap assessments, policy drafting, DPIAs, governance documentation, and client interaction.
• Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISO LA/LI, or PDPSE (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows.

• Conduct privacy gap assessments, RoPA, DPIAs, PIAs, LIA assessments, and data mapping.
• Support compliance with GDPR, DPDP Act 2023, CCPA/CPRA, PECR, UK GDPR, and other regulations.
• Draft, review, and refine privacy notices, internal policies, SOPs, data retention schedules, governance docs.
• Lead privacy framework implementations and controls improvement.
• Participate in incident response, breach assessment, and notification support.
• Assist with Data Subject Rights handling, documentation, and workflows.
• Contribute to ISO 27001/27701, NIST, CIS, and other GRC frameworks.
• Coordinate with engineering and product teams on privacy-by-design and responsible AI guidelines.
• Provide advisory support in Outsourced DPO engagements and GDPR Article 27 representation.
• Deliver client training and workshops on privacy and governance.

Your Role: Data Privacy Consultant

As a consultant, you will play a pivotal advisory role for global clients, supporting them across privacy governance, compliance implementation, data governance strategy, and AI accountability frameworks. You will work directly with senior executives, DPOs, engineers, and cross-functional teams to build robust, long-term data protection ecosystems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and operationalize privacy and data protection programs tailored to diverse client industries.
• Conduct privacy gap assessments, RoPA, DPIAs, PIAs, LIA assessments, and data mapping exercises.
• Support compliance with GDPR, DPDP Act 2023, CCPA/CPRA, PECR, UK GDPR, and emerging global privacy regulations.
• Draft, review, and refine privacy notices, internal policies, SOPs, data retention schedules, and governance documentation.
• Lead the implementation and improvement of privacy frameworks and controls.
• Participate in incident response, breach assessment, and notification support activities.
• Assist with Data Subject Rights handling, documentation, and workflows.
• Contribute to ISO 27001/27701, NIST, CIS, and other GRC control framework implementations.
• Coordinate with engineering and product teams on privacy-by-design and responsible AI development guidelines.
• Provide advisory support to clients in Outsourced DPO engagements and GDPR Article 27 representation.
• Deliver client training, awareness sessions, and workshops on privacy, governance, and emerging risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 27701, NIST, CIS or similar standards.

• Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISO LA/LI, or PDPSE (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage stakeholders with professionalism and clarity.
